Lavon Davis is a Graduate Research Assistant working on the EAGER grant within the Center for Social Science Scholarship (CS3). He is a current PhD student in the Language, Literacy, and Culture program and has been working professionally in higher education for 10 years. He received his B.A. in English (with honors) from Francis Marion University, his M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and his M.A. in Linguistics: Language and Communication from Georgetown University. He is eager to continue to dive into his passion within sociolinguistics, specifically focusing on gatekeeping/access based on the intersection of race and language.
