Description

Join the Center for Social Science Scholarship for a virtual social science coffee hour

Faculty, staff, and students — bring your own beverage and stay connected with the social science community during this time.  This will be a drop-in, open hour to share perspectives and chat with friends and colleagues.

We'll be discussing the following question:

The COVID-19 pandemic is placing high value on "fast" science -- the rapid generation of research, quick data collection and analysis, and timely interpretation of early results.  What are the pros and cons of "fast" social science versus "slow" social science?  How are these conditions affecting your own research, teaching, or learning?
